“I stand among colossal ruins, while the city spirals down, far beneath my feet. The waves became muted long before I reached the top, in the very moment I remembered everything, and here, I can almost make out the infernal ticking of the giant clock that used to count eternity through my prison window.”
lyrics
Right or wrong,
all I know is madness in me’s growing fast and strong,
all I need is time to breathe in, honey!
Dusk or dawn,
I can feel the weakness of the walls that hold me down,
and I’ll break out when the moon light’s gone.
I write this to no one other than my own blood.
Don’t worry my brother, their eyes are blind to my words.
Breakdown,
I want to realize now, I will sacrifice,
I will abandon to damnation my very eyes.
I will trade you for a chance!
„There are some words to read aloud
and others to think about,
yet these words that never die,
they are spoken in hidden tongue.”
Come undone!
“Find the Keeper! Find the Keeper! Find the Keeper!
If you choose the right way,
he will give you the secret to enter the Temple.
If you should choose wrong,
you will not see day as long as you live.
Oh no, ha ha ha!”
I’ve seen this light before,
I’ve seen the light of day,
I’ve seen the light before,
I don’t believe it’s mine, oh no.
There I was in the mid December,
standing tall with my hands together,
hoping I made the right choice and
thinking of all the things I left
far behind, in the misty weather.
Let me in! Let me in! Let me in! Let me in!
Right or wrong,
all I know is madness in me’s growing fast and strong,
and I’ll break out when the moonlight’s gone.
I write this to no one other than my own blood.
Don’t worry my brother, their eyes are full of laughter.
Breakdown,
I want to realize now, I will sacrifice,
I will abandon to damnation my very eyes.
I will trade you for a chance!
„There are some words to read aloud
and others to think about,
yet these words that never die,
they are spoken in hidden tongue,”
Be undone!

The first time I heard the older but nevertheless wonderful album "The Portal of I" and later the 23 minutes lasting epicness of Painters of the Tempest that on it's own makes Citadel the greatest of the three very nice albums of this band, I was in love with the complex and wellwritten songstructures. I am waiting for the follow-up of Urn..... grote_smurf
