“I was stuck in Or I’En, without a chance to earn my way beyond. I kept looking through the sun for a glimpse of beauty, but all I could see was the city I left behind and the prison that was still waiting for my return. Paradise was gone, because I could never have it in my human form. For humans, in its place there was only Salva D’Or, but then I saw...
the dreams I’ve had, they took me to the caves below. ”
lyrics
Time will save me, and time will make sure
that I will wake up, to be prepared for
what will come when the world is aching
for men of true shape, who will protect her.
Time will come now, it will come now,
in this cave, where I seek my death now.
Time will come now, it will come now,
in this cave, where I seek my death now!
What have I become?
I took the shape of a man.
Join the swarming flies!
If one dies, a million will come.
Water, flowing down, this chamber than I walk upon,
lead me to your heart, I long for all the things you hide.
What have I become?
I took the shape of a man.
Join the swarming flies!
If one dies, a million will come.
From a glowing strand, silky like the sand;
from a glowing strand,
hanging from the skies and crawling to ground,
they told me their terms:
I’m leader of the worms and I should help them out.
This is the last of the seasons,
and change is within them as they burrow down.
There is a ruby flame burning
over the halls where they sleep, I’m to keep them alive.
I am, I’m to protect them,
and I’m to awake them
when they transform into butterflies.
“We cannot desert our palace home
until the dream is done, and we are born to fly.
We cannot desert our palace home
until the dream is done, and we are born to fly.
Full of memories, the tree of magic fruit
has blossomed. Can you feel the scent?
Full of memories, the tree of magic fruit
has blossomed. Can you feel the scent?”
I poured an elixir of transmutation.
Behold, now the ruby flame burns pale white!
Over the festive hall, silence and nothing more,
as I prepare for awaking the flies.
The first time I heard the older but nevertheless wonderful album "The Portal of I" and later the 23 minutes lasting epicness of Painters of the Tempest that on it's own makes Citadel the greatest of the three very nice albums of this band, I was in love with the complex and wellwritten songstructures. I am waiting for the follow-up of Urn..... grote_smurf
